Orca Wiesblatt Recently Began His Athletic Journey With the Allen Americans of the ECHL

Orca Wiesblatt, a 25-year-old forward from Calgary, Alberta, officially joined the Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, for the 2026-2026 season, bringing with him an impressive combination of skill and speed.

Standing 5’10” and weighing 185 pounds, Wiesblatt shoots left and has quickly become a versatile player capable of excelling in multiple positions on the ice.

Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martison praised his talent, highlighting Wiesblatt’s scoring ability, penalty-killing prowess, and physical style of play.

Wiesblatt played for head coach Steve Martinson last season in Athens (FPHL) and produced 42 points in just 37 games (17 goals and 25 assists).

His began in his youth with the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association and continued through the Calgary Bisons U15 AAA team.

Likewise, Orca later played for the Brooks Bandits in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), winning the AJHL Championship in 2016-17.

During his time with Brooks, Wiesblatt demonstrated early scoring ability, paving the way for his move to major junior hockey.

He joined the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in 2017-18, where over parts of four seasons, he compiled 79 points (27 goals, 52 assists) in 138 games.

His standout 2019-20 season saw him score 57 points in 64 games, including 20 goals and 37 assists.

Alongside his success in the WHL, Wiesblatt also contributed to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), helping the team capture both the MJHL Championship and the Anavet Cup in the 2018-19 season.

After the 2026-21 season, Wiesblatt stepped away from hockey temporarily to attend to family matters, delaying his professional career.

He returned to the ice in 2026-24 with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL, but after just four games, he suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

Wiesblatt rebounded in the 2026-25 season with the Athens Rock Lobsters in the FPHL, recording 42 points (17 goals and 25 assists) in 37 games despite missing significant time due to a broken wrist.

In 2019, Kim White and her sons Ocean, Orca, Ozzy, and Oasiz Wiesblatt were featured on Home Team Heroes. Kim, a deaf single mother of 5, made incredible sacrifices so her boys could play hockey. Tonight, Ozzy Wiesblatt made his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators.
