Longtime football coach for the Two Harbors Agates, Charles Halsted, passed away on October 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that touched generations of players and coaches.

He was a beloved figure in the Two Harbors community, known for his leadership in football and mentorship.

As of now, the cause of Coach Charles Halsted’s passing has not been publicly disclosed.

His death was shared in a heartfelt message by the Two Harbors Agates Football team.

The Entire Two Harbors Agates Football Community is Mourning The Loss of Former Coach Charles Halsted!

Charles Halsted was a longtime football coach in Two Harbors, Minnesota.

He was deeply admired for his dedication to the sport and the young athletes he mentored.

In 1968, he led the Agates to an undefeated 8-0 season and was honored as the Region 7 Coach of the Year.

Even years after retiring, he continued to support younger coaches, offering encouragement and wisdom without judgment.

The shared a heartfelt tribute, describing how Coach Halsted stood by him from the beginning.

He said:

As many of you may have heard, Coach Charles Halsted passed away yesterday.

Others will write much more than I will—And that is the way it should be as many knew Coach better than I did. I do want to say a couple of things though…RIP Coach.

Go Agates!!!

Furthermore, he mentioned that despite not being very close at first with Coach Charles, they developed a meaningful bond built on mutual respect.

He further said:

I have no problem saying I always hoped that he was proud of what we built this program back into—That mattered to me…..I know I have always looked up to him. He is the standard when it comes to coaching football in Two Harbors.

Additionally, the Agates football community is mourning his loss deeply.

One of the former students described Coach Halsted as a coach and school staff who was fair on and off the field, saying:

Mr. Halsted was one person who not only the athletes .. but the school staff and students respected and looked up to .. he was fair and just on and off the field !! He was a legend in

As of now, details regarding Coach Charles Halsted’s funeral and celebration of life have not been publicly shared.

His family has requested privacy during this difficult time and will announce arrangements at a later date.
