Cristal Zurita, a Facebook user, recently shared a personal and painful story that she had kept hidden for years.
In her post, she revealed that she was sexually abused by her Grand Island soccer coach, Jose Luis Bedolla Núñez, known as “Chino,” from the age of 4 until she was 16.
She described the abuse as severe and warned others that the man had harmed multiple children over two decades.
Grand Island Soccer Coach Accused Of Sexually Abusing Children Has Been Released From Prison!
mentioned specific incidents of abuse, including being molested and assaulted by the coach, which no child should ever experience.
She remembers being only five years old when he assaulted her in his kitchen. Further, she said:
Another time, I was in his kitchen he groped me then proceeded to stick his fingers inside of me. I was wearing a black skirt, Mary Jane’s, and my hair was in pig tails. I was 5.
Similarly, at eight, he took her from trick-or-treating to a gas station bathroom, where she cried in fear before he molested her.
This wasn’t a one-time event; it occurred repeatedly over the course of a decade.
Cristal says she was his “favorite,” and the abuse ranged from touching to more serious assaults.
She explained how the trauma shaped her entire life, leading to mental health diagnoses like CPTSD, depression, and bipolar psychosis, along with physical conditions and the loss of a child.
In 2015, she pressed charges and thought she had finally broken free.
However, despite the severity of the crimes, the coach served less than ten years and was released.
Cristal now appeals to the public for awareness and justice. She said that the system failed her and that more victims may still be suffering in silence.
Many people commented on her Facebook post, with some praising her bravery and others for what had happened to her.
One of the commentators said her story could help protect other children and inspire others to speak out, saying:
Thank you for being brave enough to share this story to save other kids. It truly takes a lot of strength Cristal. There isn’t enough words or I’m sorry to change what happened to you but just know my love and strength is with you and I am proud of how far you have come in life you have continued to turn all your pain in to Power and strength and someone who advocates for people, shows the person you are today. The justice system is so fucked and I am sorry they failed you. I’m sorry that people and men like this exist in this world. You never deserved that. The world is so lucky to have you and your existence.
Similarly, another wrote:
This made me cry. I can’t imagine the pain, hurt, and trauma you’ve carried throughout your entire life. No one should live in silence when heinous acts are committed against them. You are strong for sharing a bit of your story – I’m glad you’re still here. May the universe get him, and may he rot. Sending hugs to you and your inner child. Much love for you
Through her post, Zurita is warning others about the person who once abused her.
Additionally, she is expressing her deep frustration over his early release.
She pointed out that he spent less time in jail than someone convicted of a drug-related offense.
