On October 24, 2026, Jordi Hernandez, a volunteer coach from Amarillo, Texas, shared a post on Facebook where he slaps a student for threatening him and harassing his 15-year-old sister.
Jordi Hernandez is a 19-year-old former student of West Plains High School who has been involved in local sports for several years.
He was a standout athlete during his high school years.
Hernandez played football and participated in other school sports, earning respect from teammates and coaches.
After graduating two years ago, he began giving back to his community by volunteering as a coach for West Plains Junior High School.

According to Jordi’s Facebook post, the incident took place on October 21 during a seventh-grade football game at West Plains.
In the game, Hernandez encountered a senior student who had been harassing him online for some time.
The harassment included disrespectful messages, offensive photos, and threats of physical violence.
While Jordi was ignoring the threats, things turned out to be violent when the student targeted Hernandez’s 15-year-old sister with sexual and disturbing comments.
Following this, Jordi later confronted the senior in the hallway and, acting out of anger and a protective instinct for his sister, he slapped him in the face.
After the incident, authorities were called immediately, and Hernandez acknowledged that physical confrontation was not the best way to handle the situation, expressing regret over his actions.
Hernandez emphasized that this incident does not reflect the values or culture of West Plains High School or its coaching staff.
He praised the school’s administrators, coaches, and players for maintaining one of the most respected athletic programs in Texas and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to volunteer with them.
Supporting Jordi’s actions, many have expressed their support for him, with one person in Facebook comments writing:
Hey, I really appreciate you opening up and explaining everything so that others no your side of the story I can tell this whole situation has been heavy on you, and it takes a lot of courage to speak up and take responsibility the way you did. It’s clear your reaction came from a place of protection and care for your sister and not anger or pride. Anyone who loves their family would’ve been deeply affected by the things that were said. Still, the fact that you can look back and admit you could’ve handled it differently shows a lot of maturity and growth. You’ve always carried yourself with respect and faith, and I know your heart. This doesn’t define your character and it just shows you’re human and still learning like the rest of us. God sees that too. Keep standing firm in your faith, keep protecting your peace, and trust that He’ll use even this situation for good.
Hernandez took responsibility for his actions and asked the community to understand that the situation began as a serious case of harassment and threats, particularly involving a minor.
